April was a mixed reading month for me. I had several great reads, including multiple five-stars, but there were a couple of not-so-good ones, too. With there being more than one highly rated book, though, I had my work cut out for me deciding which one to feature as my Book of the Month, but I ended up choosing one that was a pure delight, a fun, sexy, romantic story that really put a smile on my face and a spring in my step. As a bonus, it’s written by a popular indie author I’ve never featured before, and I love offering up new authors to my readers.
Nick is a cartoonist whose popular comic strip, The Adventures of Mister Orgasm, was turned into a hit, late-night, animated television series. A formerly shy, nerdy guy, he eventually found his confidence, and now prides himself on being a top-notch lover who craves learning what a woman wants in the bedroom and giving it to her in spades. He’s not a total man-whore, though. He is, in his own words, a “serial monogamist,” sticking with just one lover at a time until the relationship has run its course, but none of those women have tempted him to make a more permanent commitment. Instead, Nick can’t seem to help lusting after his best friend’s sister, even though he considers her off-limits. But when they start hanging out together as friends and she asks him to be her dating coach, that coaching soon turns into flirting, then sexting, and finally he just can’t resist her charms any longer. Ah, Nick! [dramatic sigh] Nick is totally my dream guy in every way, from the physical aspects (dark hair, short trim beard, glasses, and a hot body) to his single-minded focus on giving a woman the best orgasms of her life, he simply makes me swoon. But when he realizes he’s fallen in love, he’s also a touch vulnerable and uncertain, and I absolutely loved him to pieces.
Harper is a professional magician (a very unique career for a romance heroine), who primarily entertains at children’s parties. She’s adorkably awkward around a certain hot guy she likes. She’s fun, easy-going, and has a great sense of humor, but she doesn’t have a lot of experience with either dating or sex. That’s why she asks Nick for his help. Harper quickly discovers, though, that with Nick, she has no trouble conversing, or flirty texting him, or talking very naughty in the bedroom with him. In fact, he brings out the confident, sexy woman inside her and makes her feel completely at ease. Harper is a very giving, unselfish person, who not only wants to make all of Nick’s sexy dreams come true, but who also understands how much his career means to him and wouldn’t dream of standing in the way of his success. So for all these reasons and more, I ended up loving Harper almost equally as much as Nick.
I had an absolute blast reading this book. It’s light and funny without being weird or dorky. It has all the emotion that I look for in a romance, and the love scenes are so deliciously hot and sexy, they just might burn your fingers or send your eReader up in flames.;-) Both Nick and Harper were very relatable to me and everything that I look for in a romance hero and heroine. The story was sheer perfection and I loved every minute I spent reading it. That’s why I’m naming Lauren Blakely’s Mister O as my April Book of the Month. If you enjoy a sultry, sexy, romantic comedy with a hot hero who knows how to please a woman and an adorable, quirky heroine, then you should definitely give this book a try. Keep reading to learn how you can win a copy for your own library.
Just call me Mister O. Because YOUR pleasure is my super power.
The only problem? She's my best friend's sister, but she's far too tempting to resist--especially when I learn that sweet, sexy Harper, has a dirty mind too and wants to put it to good use. What could possibly go wrong as I give the woman I've secretly wanted some no-strings-attached lessons in seduction?
No one will know, even if we send a few dirty sexts. Okay, a few hundred. Or if the zipper on her dress gets stuck. Not on that! Or if she gives me those f*&k-me-eyes on the train in front of her whole family.
The trouble is the more nights I spend with her in bed, the more days I want to spend with her out of bed. And for the first time ever, I'm not only thinking about how to make a woman cry out in pleasure --I'm thinking about how to keep her in my arms for a long time to come.
Looks like the real Adventures of Mister Orgasm have only just begun....
